Hi, I’m Puru.
I qualified as a dentist from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2008. I began my career in community dentistry, where I gained valuable experience treating a wide range of patients, often with complex needs. Shortly after, I transitioned into general practice, where I’ve continued to build on that foundation and develop a broad skill set in patient care.
Prior to joining Alton Dental in 2014, I completed additional postgraduate training with certificate courses in both aesthetic dentistry and orthodontics. These courses equipped me with a strong foundation in cosmetic smile enhancement and tooth alignment techniques, allowing me to offer a wider range of treatment options tailored to individual patient needs. Since becoming part of the team, I have been based at our Anstey Road practice, where I continue to provide comprehensive care to patients of all ages. In addition to my clinical role, I’ve also had the rewarding opportunity to be involved in the supervision and development of newly qualified dentists, supporting foundation dentists as they begin their professional journey.
My main clinical interests include minimally invasive dentistry, aesthetic orthodontics, and endodontics (root canal treatment). I have recently completed a Master’s degree in Endodontics at King’s College London, which has allowed me to deepen my knowledge and refine my skills in managing more complex root canal cases. This advanced training has significantly shaped my current focus within the practice, where I now dedicate much of my time to providing high-quality endodontic care and accepting referrals for challenging root treatments.
I am passionate about delivering dentistry in a way that is both gentle and patient-centred, always aiming to create a calm and friendly environment where patients feel heard and at ease. Whether it’s restoring function, alleviating pain, or enhancing smiles, my goal is to support each individual in achieving long-term oral health in a way that aligns with their personal needs and goals.
Outside of dentistry I am a keen guitarist and have performed with various bands in the past.
